Circle h Farm is a certified organic farm, growing fruits, vegetables, and herbs for local markets. Circle h delivers CSA boxes to Eugene, Dexter, and Oakridge, Oregon. Also can be found at the Lane County Farmers' Market.

Herb Manager

The bread and butter of our farm income is wholesale production of culinary herbs. From spearmint to tarragon, dill to sage, we handle hundreds of bunches a week and need a qualified production and crew manager to take up the snips.

 

Vegetable and Herb Crew: 

Circle h Farm is seeking farm crew members with a determined work ethic and a passion for creating healthy food for people while stewarding the land. Previous experience is strongly favored. Duties include seeding, transplanting, hand weeding, watering, hoeing, fertilizing and harvesting vegetables, fruits, and culinary herbs organically in all weather conditions. Will be self-motivated but also comfortable working with a crew of 1-3 people. Need to be a creative problem solver, strong communicator, a diligent and persistent worker. Farmers need to think 3 steps ahead and plan their movements efficiently. Rewards are tangible, like delicious and nutritious food to strengthen us, new skills learned daily, and the look of a beautifully weeded row or pile of perfect broccoli on the market table. Advancement opportunity for proficient workers. Compensation starts at $15/hr and is dependent on experience. The 3/4 to full-time position runs through November. Herb Manager:

This integral position requires a person with both farm and human resource management experience. Enjoy the benefit of stepping into a well-established production model, with room to experiment, test, and refine the systems. Help us continually improve our organic practices, product quality, efficiency, and worker satisfaction by asking and answering hard questions gracefully. Duties include:

-  Coordinate herb production from propagation to harvest

-  Maintain production through cultivation techniques, pest/disease control, and planting rotations

-  Communicate herb projections to wholesale buyers

- Coordinate herb harvest and delivery to Eugene, by directing crew of 2-4 people, setting weekly production schedule and coordinating staff/task priorities

-  Ensure food safety standards are met for each herb harvest

-  Maintain internal staff communication

-  Track necessary production supplies

-  Weed, water, plant and harvest alongside the crew, working in vegetable production as needed

This is a full-time position with opportunity for advancement. Room for some flexibility in the weekly schedule, recognizing some weeks require overtime. Pay starts at $16 and is dependent on competency. Year-round work available, or a break in December and January is also possible.
